We discuss the Silent Hill franchise, make fun of the Nintendo Wii for awhile (sorry fanboys) and reminisce about the Power Glove. Classic Game Room HD breaks out another amazing video game review of the classic 1987 controller for the Nintendo Entertainment System, the NES ADVANTAGE!!! Hell yeah, get the advantage in games like 1943 and Star Soldier! Use the arcade style joystick and turbo buttons to your advantage to kick the crap out of hordes of enemy airplanes and space ships. The NES Advantage is easy to find at online auctions like ebay and has tremendous build quality. It withstands the test of time well and just feels like a real arcade joystick. It also had a unique slow feature which would pause and unpause the game. It could be used for one or two player games like Super Mario Brothers Bros. where you didn't play against each other, but rather switched between 1 and 2 players. The turbo buttons are rock solid and variable, you can adjust independently of each other. You simply can't go wrong with the most well designed old school classic video game fighting or arcade style joystick controller ever made. Get the advantage! Does not work with Xbox 360, Playstation 2 PS2, Playstation 3 PS3 or Wii Virtual Console. Does work for the Nintendo. One of the best accessories out there (there were lots of neat and bizarre add-ons for the NES like ROB the Robot and that weird ass power glove.) See gameplay of one in action! Games like Contra, Metroid and Bionic Commando will work with the NES Advantage.
Classic Game Room HD reviews BLASTER MASTER OVERDRIVE for Nintendo Wii from Sunsoft. This remake of the classic 1988 NES hit captures the spirit and gameplay of the original and adds new features and modifications to SOPHIA. Use a grappling hook and go Bionic Commando style on waves of mindless enemies lumbering around in caves and hover over spaces too wide to jump. Does this re-envisioned Nintendo wiiware version of Blaster Master have what it takes to live up to the original? This CGR review of Blaster Master Overdrive for Nintendo Wii has gameplay from Sunsoft's blastermaster Overdrive in HD showing game play on Nintendo Wii. Plays with the Wiimote. Drive through caves and crawl out of your tank truck thing to swim and battle end bosses in challenging old school style 2D run and gun end boss battle fights.
Part 2 of 2. Review of the Sega Genesis STREET FIGHTER 2 vs. SNES STREET FIGHTER 2... Classic Game Room starts a war! A 16-bit conflict between the Super Nintendo video game console and the Sega Genesis video game system. Street Fighter 2 by Capcom is one of the greatest fighting games ever made and single handedly brought people back into the arcades in the early 1990's to battle each other in this smooth, stylish 2D fighter. Although SNK and other companies had some fighting games out there, it was Street Fighter 2 that made the biggest splash. Consequently it was ported to the leading game consoles of the time, the Sega Genesis (or Sega Megadrive) and the Super Nintendo SNES. Although they are very similar on both game consoles, there are subtle differences between the two that are fun and interesting to point out in this informative head to head comparison review. Graphics are slightly difference, sound is very different and fortunately the gameplay is similar. Are you a Sega Mega Drive fanatic or an SNES fanboy... doesn't matter. We can all agree that Street Fighter 2 is awesome and that we're all waiting eagerly for Street Fighter 4 from Capcom. Will Street Fighter 4 see a revival on any Sega game consoles or the Nintendo Wii? Will is be the supreme fighting game on the PS3 Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 game platforms? Who can say, but this look at the 16 bit era is a lot of fun and Street Fighter 2 from Capcom gets a great review from Classic Game Room. Check the footage side by side with out space age computers and editing software.
